I’m demoing Photon2 for a school and trying to understand how I can control each of the 4 channels (dimmers) for a Chauvet DMX 4 dimmer pack. When I add them into Photon, it lists each as being a 4 channels fixture, but I can’t find in the group (or Custom Controls) where faders to control these would be?

Via this method you cannot. Photon over-simplifies the fixture to summary controls allowing only control over the entire fixture.
The way around this is to create a custom fixture for each light. I have a Chauvet 4bar, it runs in 15 channels. I have it broken up into 5 custom devices. Device 1 is 3 channels and controls autoprograms, master dimmer, and strobe. Then each of the 4 individual lights are set up as four individual 3 channel RGB fixtures. This allows control over each light individually.
I made a request that the summary controls still work to control the over all device, but that you could still access any of the individual channels in the custom controls. We’ll see what happens if there is ever an update.
Ha! That’s exactly what I ended up doing yesterday (creating 16 Chauvet DMX-4 (1CH) entries) to arrive at a potential solution. My customer is not going to enjoy the idea of a subscription (Luminair) and the price tag for Blackout is hefty. So I really wanted to find a way to make Photon work.
A related question – Can you control channels directly without having to create groups? Right now I have 16 1-Fixture groups (to control each individual light) and then I created a couple groups (including those individual fixtures) to control specific areas of the stage. That was the only way I found that I could include individual/group lights in Presets. Dashboard is nice for quick access to specific controls, but it seems Group/Presets/Sequences are where the magic happens.
The “Chauvet DMX4” device that comes up in the list seems to be incorrectly setup…
I added a Custom Device with " 4 x “Custom Channels” each set to a Slider.
configure the DMX4 address as required and my device becomes a 4 channel dimmer with each channel in “Custom controls” add each DMX4 to your show as required and add 1 per group - then set dimmers in custom controls as required for each Scene.
I did upload my device so it should be available " DMX4-4 Dimmers"
(Don’t know how long it takes for User configured devices to appear in the list…)
Alternatively just set up your own Device - takes seconds…
