Issue with app running in the background

Hello everyone,

I had a show last weekend and unfortunately it ended up with no light control when Photon 2 app was running in the background. The LIVE function was activated and I never had problems with it before.

I’ve been searching the forum, but could not find anything - I’m wondering if there is a recent new issue with background activity for Photon 2 in iPadOS?
If so, is this looked into or already addressed in beta version?

It’s been a constant battle for me. It stops responding in the background regularly. I reboot in the breaks, but my whole goal was to automate.

We changed nothing with the background mode, what is you iPad model and you iPad OS version please ?
If you agree we could generate a report and send it to the dev team to analyse it ?

It might be Apple who changed something in an iPadOS update.
The MIDI commands was working fine once I had Photon2 app open. Open another app, the commands did not work any longer and it has never been a problem in the past.

I’m on iPad Air (5th generation) with iPadOS 17.5.1

There is an iPadOS update available (17.6.1). Let me install this one and I can try again. If it does not work I can send diagnostic data if you can provide case number or other instructions.

Did you notice a difference with the 17.6.1 ?
If not tell I can explain you how to submit the report.
If i understand well MIDI didn’t work anymore when to MIDI apps are launch together ?

I have updated to 17.6.1 and did a quick test just now and it seems the problems are gone.
I can control the lights both with MIDI from OnSong app and from a Bluetooth MIDI pedal when Photon2 is in background. I have another show on Saturday, let’s see how it goes LIVE :smiley:
