Unfortunately FreeDMX is not compatible with Photon. It does not officially use the Art-Net protocol but a priority protocol.
I couldn’t test it myself but some community members have reported this information.

Yes, you were just lucky! After some serious discussions with the Eurolite distributor Steinigke regarding the FreeDMX AP it turned out that they got a single batch with this product where Artnet was enabled. This is nothing they have promised in their specs or support and they can’t guarantee that the next batch will include Artnet functionality for this product. Thanks for the quick reply!! After spending all night yesterday trying to find the error, I suspected that this was a dead end… I have to deposit the info with the sales company so that others don’t have to spend the night banging around their ears and throw out money… have a nice weekend!
